Artist's Bio

Gerardo R. Casas was born in Queens, New York. He attended LaGuardia Community College, where he graduated with honors and obtained an Associate Degree in Fine Arts. He then transferred to School of Visual Arts where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cartooning/Illustration. Gerardo is the curator of five successful comic exhibitions: “New Voices of Comic Art”, “Critical Glitch”, “Heroes & Villains”, “Nightmares” and “Farewell” at a Brooklyn based gallery called Ouchi Gallery and he was co-curator of the “Summer Art Show” at Stathkion Cultural Center in Queens. He has displayed his works at Sala dei Templari, Ouchi Gallery, Stathkion Cultural Center, New York Comic Book Marketplace, Mike Carbo’s Big Apple Con, The Living Gallery and MoCCA Arts Festival. When is not busy as a curator, Gerardo is the creator of his self-published comic book titled “The Gang”, which narrates the daily insane tribulations of Rick, Yuriko, Carlos, and Megan.
