Artist's Bio

David Shear is a cartoonist, illustrator, and art teacher. He was born and raised on Long Island, where he resides today. David went to The School of Visual Arts and has a BFA in Cartooning/ Illustration.. He also got his art teacher certification from LIU Post, graduating with an M.S. in Art Education.

David’s original illustrations often feature animals due to his love of the animal kingdom, interest in paleontology, and affinity for living and extinct fauna. One of His current passion projects involves teaching the next generation of artists to love and appreciate anime through his online class: “Anime Drawing Club” on outschool.com.

When David isn’t teaching, he will often be found doodling, playing video games or watching videos of dogs and making strange noises.
